CLIENT:
Business Consulting- Supply Chain Transformation Practice of a Big4 Consulting Firm
End Client: One of the oldest & leading Indian manufacturer of engines and heavy equipment
CONSULTANT:
Strategy & Operations Consultant with 12+ years of experience. He specializes in Operational Excellence, Operational Improvement, Lean Six Sigma, Overall Productivity Improvement & Procurement. Hands-on experience in implementing Six Sigma & Lean projects. He has worked with Mercedes-Benz Research & Development India as an Automation Consultant and started and led the Manufacturing Process team in the Production Tools forum. Worked with General Motors Technical Center India and spearheaded the six sigma initiative to drive the implementation of various tools. He has also worked for AFCONS Infrastructure Ltd, Reliance Jio, Tata Consultancy Services & Takshashila Management Consulting,
ASSIGNMENT:
1) Analyzing the spend base
2) categorizing the spend into multiple addressable buckets
3) Prioritizing the areas of deep dive for analyzing the complete scope for cost reduction
4) Deliberate the solutions and possibilities with the client team
5) Get client signoff for implementation
6) Oversee the progress of the implementation and ensure that the results are accrued as per the agreed timelines.
OUTCOME:
1) Led the cost reduction efforts via optimization of Battery specs for Diesel Generators
2) Led the cost reduction efforts via identification of alternate materials to reduce cost by 3 Crores on a cost base of 12 Crores
3) Guided 2 consultants in the project to help them work on their initiatives and identify the cost reduction opportunities
4) Created complex excel models to analyze the client data and derived valuable insights that helped prioritize the areas to further perform the deep dive.
