Project Director to Set up Greenfield Chocolate Plant

CLIENT:
A global leader in food and beverage ingredients with a strong focus on sustainable and traceable supply chains, offering a diverse portfolio in cocoa, coffee, dairy, nuts, and spices.
CONSULTANT:
A Project Management Leader with over 30 years of experience delivering large scale Greenfield and Brownfield projects across FMCG, food, alcobev, and manufacturing sectors. He has spearheaded multi-million dollar projects from concept to commissioning, with deep expertise in land acquisition, statutory clearances, project planning, vendor management, and execution. At Carlsberg, he served as Project Manager across multiple high value brewery developments in India and Nepal, reporting to the Vice President-Operations. His responsibilities included land procurement through due diligence, and overseeing outsourced vendor execution. He was instrumental in establishing process roadmaps, including water analysis and compliance frameworks, ensuring plants achieved operational benchmarks quickly post commissioning. At Britannia, he managed the planning and rollout of Greenfield and expansion projects, reporting to the Regional Project Head. He successfully delivered pre construction activities such as land allotment, surveys, and tendering processes, along with execution of new facilities and expansions, driving efficiency, compliance, and timely project delivery across strategic industrial initiatives.
ASSIGNMENT:
The role involved leading the end-to-end setup of a new chocolate factory, including project planning, coordinating with construction and engineering teams, overseeing equipment installation, managing procurement, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. It also included hiring and training factory staff and collaborating with R&D to develop new chocolate products.
OUTCOME:
Successfully led the greenfield setup of a new chocolate factory, delivering timely execution, ensuring full adherence to quality standards, and achieving efficient production readiness.
